Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the town of Arusha, where you can settle in to your accommodations for the evening and relax as your African adventure begins.

Lake Manyara, Tanzania

Day 2: Manyara National Park

Depart for Manyara National Park, enjoying a picnic lunch en-route. Manyara National Park is a protected wildlife region situated between the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. This destination is famous for its tree-climbing lions and pink flamingos that descend on the soda ash lake. It is also home to hippo, giraffe, impala, and zebra, along with an array of primate species.

Enjoy a game drive in Manyara National Park and a cultural walk in the village of Mto wa Mbu before heading to your accommodations in Karatu or along the Crater rim.

Day 3: Exploring the Ngorongoro Crater

Depart in the morning for the Ngorongoro Crater.  Once within the crater, enjoy a game drive as you look for Eland antelope, Black rhino, lions, hippos, zebra, Wildebeest, hyena, and Grey-Crowned Cranes, among numerous other varieties of wildlife. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodations in Karatu or along the crater.

Day 4: Journey to the Serengeti

In the morning, depart for Serengeti National Park, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch. Undoubtedly one of Africa’s most famous wildlife regions, Serengeti National Park is known for its abundant wildlife an annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra. Enjoy a game drive through the park, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodations as you take in the views of Serengeti plains.

Day 5 & 6: Game Drives in the Serengeti

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before you set out to explore Central Serengeti. 

The region consists largely of classic Acacia-studded savanna, and the Seronera River attracts abundant wildlife year-round. Big game in the Serengeti includes lion, rhino, elephant, giraffe, Cape buffalo, leopard, and numerous antelope species. For birdwatchers, keep an eye out for the Kori bustard, Fischer’s lovebird, and Rufous-tailed weaver, among many others. The day holds game drives as you explore the reaches of this region of the Serengeti. 

If you would like, get an early start to the day with a hot air balloon over the plains, followed by a bush breakfast with champagne to toast your flight.

In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodations.

Day 7: Welcome to Zanzibar

In the morning, depart from the Seronera airstrip on your flight to Zanzibar via Arusha. Upon arrival at Zanzibar, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to your beach hotel.  Enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 8 & 9: Island Living
