Day 1: Karibu! Welcome to Uganda

Karibu—a very warm welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by a representative of Hornbill Treks & Safaris and transferred to your accommodations in Entebbe. You’ll have a safari briefing and time for last questions regarding your adventure across Uganda. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Evening Game Drive on the Savanna

In the morning, set out on your scheduled flight to the Queen Elizabeth region.  On arrival, transfer to your accommodations.  Enjoy a later afternoon game drive through the park. Wildlife here includes the striking Uganda kob, elephant, Cape Buffalo, hyena, hippo, waterbuck, lion, leopard, and nearly 600 bird species–a figure that competes for the highest number of any park in Africa.

Day 3: Game Drives & Boat Safari

In the morning, embark on a game drive in the park for a chance to see the lions at hunt and the hyenas before they make their daily retreat into the woods. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, we’ll set sail on the Kazinga Channel, exploring the waterway known for its various bird species and hippo population. Keep an eye out for elephants, as they often head for the water at this hour to drink from the shores of the channel. Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge or enjoy an evening game drive.

Day 4: Chimp Trekking in Kyambura Gorge

In the morning, we will depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping at Kyambura Gorge for a mid-morning chimpanzee trek. This hike takes you into the wooded ravine in search of the forest’s habituated chimpanzees.
 
From there, continue on to Bwindi, arriving in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in the Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters to meet your park rangers who will serve as your guides for the day’s excursion. Your trek into the mountains may range from thirty minutes to eight hours, but once you meet the gorillas, you will be able to spend one full, unforgettable hour with them. Gorilla tracking begins where the gorillas were found the previous day. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors and return to your accommodations for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6: Journey to Lake Mburo

In the morning, transfer to Lake Mburo, arriving for an evening game drive in the park.

Day 7: Exploring Lake Mburo

 Explore the park on a game drive for a chance to see more zebra, giraffes, antelope, and other incredible fauna. Relax over lunch at your accommodations before setting off on a boat safari on Lake Mburo. Here, you will have an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a wide range of water birds, as well as other wildlife coming to drink at the water’s edge.

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, we make our final journey towards Entebbe, stopping for lunch en-route.  Transfer to Entebbe International Airport in time to catch your international flight.
